If I haven't said it before, I'm going to say it now , I believe in black businesses. If it's black owned , especially black-woman owned? I am here for it.
I did a post a while back where I shared some black woman businesses that I have supported/been supporting. If you haven't read that post , you can do so here. We're a quarter of the way into the year, something I am still grappling with to be honest. You know I've been on this "put yuh money weh yuh mout deh" campaign so as expected I have found a few more black/woman/local businesses to give my hard earned coins to. Let's go!
1) Be A Goodie
I love a good scrub, next to face masks , exfoliators are my favourite skin care product. This line is all natural and locally made by a young female scientist. I bought the sugar scrub for myself and the coffee scrub for bae. I enjoyed this product , it makes my skin feel so smooth and smells so yummy and it's helping treat those pesky ingrown hairs I get after shaving. I would definitely recommend.
2) Ngozi Sweet Blessings
I bought two candles about three years ago and I have been in love ever since. I wouldn't therefore call it a new found fave but I recently got two more of their candles and I've fallen in love all over again. I adore the scents , the packaging and just the brand itself. I see where Tonisha is branching off into other products , all of which I am most excited to try.
3) Rosie's Bead Shoppe
This place popped up on my Instagram feed and I am sure it was destiny. I have been looking for raw cut crystals for a while but I wasn't able to find them locally. Enter Rosie's Bead Shoppe , so conveniently located in Devon House. I was able to get raw cut rose quartz and amethyst. Perfect! Rosie and Warren are so warm and welcoming and very knowledgeable about the crystals. I am expanding my crystal collection so I will definitely be visiting again.
Special Mention goes to......*drumroll please*
Sugarplum Box - A Jamaican Lifestyle Subscription Box? Count me in! I signed up in February and I just got the Beauty Slaycation Box about two weeks ago. It was a little on the pricey side but definitely worth it! After receiving my box, I immediately subscribed for the next one. I plan to do a full review so look out for that :)
Are there any black owned businesses you think I should try?
Love and Light,
